Abstract: Ethnic minority villages are important places for ethnic minorities to live in as compact communities. They have accumulated
rich and colorful ethnic cultures and are a treasure pot of traditional Chinese culture. On the basis of affirming its value, the protection
and development of villages with ethnic minority characteristics under the background of the implementation of rural revitalization
strategy should develop their industrial economy, prosper their cultures, protect their ecological environments, and realize the
sustainable developments. Based on the field investigation of Poya Village, this paper analyzes the current situation of the protection
and development of villages with ethnic minority characteristics under the background of rural revitalization strategy, reflects on the
problems existing in the process of local rural revitalization, puts forward countermeasures, and discusses the social and cultural
significance of the protection and development of Poya Village.
